QUALITY CONTROL PROGRAMS

Summit provides its services in a professional and comprehensive manner utilizing unique and innovative quality-control programs providing 100% customer satisfaction. We design and implement strict procedures that, carefully followed, allow our clients the maximum benefit of our years of experience. These procedures provide us with a seasoned yet direct approach to planning and building projects. We begin with a clear understanding of the customer’s goals, and then nothing is left to chance. The following represents but does not limit the procedures and systems we use to ensure the success of our projects:

    • Monthly owner reports consisting of aerial progress photos and current logs of submittals, issues, progress, and any changes the owner may have requested. These reports are offered in a hard copy format and are also available for viewing on Summit web site.  The “Owners Back Page” is password protected using the firewall technology to protect this sensitive information.
    • Subcontractor meetings every week with onsite supervision to review progress.
    • Subcontractor scheduling meetings every two weeks with Summit’s project manager, superintendents, and pertinent subcontractor supervisors for the given period in order to manage the overall project schedule and resolve any current project issues.
    • Unit Mock-ups are built prior to and during construction to test all flashing systems that relate to the building envelope and the possibilities of penetration.
    • Waterproof / Building Envelope / Flashing meetings are mandated specifically around the framing stages of each project, but are also a common thread throughout the complete construction process.  This system allows us to review specific details with each subcontractor that may penetrate the exterior of the buildings.
    • Mold pre-treatment throughout construction to remedy any weather intrusion that may occur during construction. Reports are provided at project completion certifying there are no existing issues at the time of turnover.
    • Quality Control Checklists specific to each project are maintained by all field personnel throughout construction.
    • Project Specific Field Manuals put together by Summit’s project manager; this is so that subs have quick reference guide to items that need to “fit” properly such as window and door rough openings, and cabinet layouts. These Manuals also include items such as manufacturer installation guidelines for house-wrap, and installation guidelines for windows including fastening details and taping/sealing requirements for such.
